Oh good catch, @Maggie8K  I’ve updated the discussion a little so that the world limit doesn’t cause any issues!

Rubbish - I’ve been refused NHS funding for an operation on my foot despite successfully having the same operation on the other foot last autumn.

Very sorry to read that.. what was the excuse? Funding? That’s worse than being on a waiting list!
My day has been fab : sun beaches and 30,000
paces later!

Cats when I got back… ( they aren’t allowed on the sofa!)

You are exactly where you’ve got to be.
Ok then two weeks it is!

Spent this morning in Grassington, Yorkshire where they film All Creatures Great and Small. Yesterday the King came to Bradford Cartwright Hall for City of Culture 2025. Fabulous weather

The excuse was that the ICB (funding board) has changed its referral pathway so my GP should have had a crystal ball and referred me first to a musculoskeletal service. That is despite the fact that the osteoarthritis in my feet is way beyond doing exercises etc.

So very sorry to read this. I’m resident in Spain and I must say things have been fine so far but I haven’t really been ill yet! Will you go private then? It’s always about the money!

I’ll explore challenging the decision and getting my GP to re-refer me but, yes, if necessary I’ll go private.

Surreal
I still can’t believe that we get to cross off some of our bucket list items with our children. We are taking a month break in Busan South Korea right now before we leave Asia to start our next adventure starting with a catsit in Calgary. It’s summer so north is calling our names. Check out these sand castles below. We just happened to be here for the annual Haeundae Beach Sand Festival happening this weekend.

Today I’m fingers crossed praying for Zorro’s recovery from eating a kebab stick at a BBQ with his owners - the stick punctured his lung stomach and several other places. He’s having daily antibiotic injections…. he’s very poorly.
I’ve walked Zorro every Friday for all day adventures for 7 years via Borrowmydoogy except when I’m away house and pet sitting. He’s my heart dog.

I would describe my day as fulfilling, accomplished, content, exciting!
Fulfilling, The weather was perfect, I met a new host, am in a home by the river, and I finished my finals!
Accomplished: I’m 95% percent sure I will pass all of my classes with an A!
Content: I got to sit in a cozy chair by the river for hours!
Exciting: I confirmed my longest sit! The host and I spent 3 hours going over her home and I feel so ready!

So sad… It just reminds us how sticks of all sizes can be really damaging for dogs.
I hope he recovers.

Update: good news and he’s a miracle says the vet! He had septicaemia pneumonia two collapsed lungs and an injury to his Colon. He’s recovering slowly….. no more BBQs for this dog :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
