It does seem rather childish
Hi @Avatuidiego I read that you don’t want to leave a review and certainly not if you don’t get a review.
I also read that you don’t want to get into it but not leaving a review does not help other TSitters.
The review is kinda key to this whole thing…
We’re with @HelloOutThere on leaving a review @Avatuidiego - if you can, please do. Just make it factual, non emotional and brief. It will warn future sitters which is key if it’s a dodgy sit
I thought if neither party left a review, they were both given 5 stars, which kind of defeats the object.
@Chrissie , no, that’s not what happens. If neither party leaves a review, there just won’t be any reviews. On HO’s profile (on app) there’ll just be a picture of the sktter without any text, and from the sitter’s profile you don’t even know they did the sit.
@Chrissie yeah if that was true then it would but that’s not what actually happens it just gets left blank
I got the five star e-mail after I had written my review …at first glance it appeared I had received a five star review it says
Yippee to Your 5* Sit!
And High five on your five-star sit!
but on reading further it then says
we’re glad you had a great time on your sit - we loved reading your review,
I checked and at that point HO had not left me a review
The homeowner left their review 2 days later ( it was over Christmas time ) and then I got an e-mail which said
Exciting times # you’ve just received a new review!
It then says it’s now time to leave your review ( which I had already done two days previously)
All the reviews are showing correctly on the dashboard but the e-mails need some improvement as they are currently very unclear .
@Carla @Jenny
Hi all
Not sure what is the best way to get this info to you but here ya go…
I read similar posts on this as well in different threads.
After the new system started, I got notifications when people reviewed me. No indication of stars, until I had written my review too.
I agree with the first post. Not writing a review can be better for your peace of mind and mental health, unless something dangerous is going on that you feel you need to warn others about.
All the more reason to leave a review, so other sitters will know the issues you had…just be as polite and tactful when writing it. You can make it brief and just give the stars you feel are appropriate. For example: It was not a good experience for me and I can’t recommend this sit. Hopefully the HO will improve XYZ (whatever the issue was) for future sitters.
I appreciate your perspective. I found leaving a less than perfect mark for a sitter last month caused me a great deal of anxiety. It was about an unavoidable issue that had to be addressed. This is not.
Hello, @HelloOutThere thank you for the tag
@Avatuidiego to reassure you you will receive an email letting you know that the other member has left you a review but it won’t show the number of stars or the content of the review. @pietkuip @Maggie8K @bakindoki have shared screenshots and information about that email.
The other email that @Maggie8K & @Silversitters received I believe should be sent after you have left a review or both parties have, but I will double-check this when the team are back in the office and post here. I’m also happy to pass the feedback about the wording in that email to the Marketing team.
@Maggie8K If you feel that the emails were received incorrectly then feel free to check the timelines they were sent with Membership Services
I hope that helps and thank you to everyone who jumped in to help and @Snowbird for sharing how to tag.
Happy New Year to you all!
Thanks, Carla. I’m good. I’m not worried about reminders and notifications. I just need to remember the two-week window, post-sit. I discussed here just because of the OP.
But as another sitter, I’d love to know about the rudeness and unreasonable expectations so I don’t end up with similar disappointment. You could wait until the very last minute to review, perhaps?
I think THS are congraduating you for giving the HO a 5 star review. I got the same one when i got a 4 star from that women that doesnt believe in giving a 5 stars for anything
I hadn’t yet written my review of the host at that point.
Hi @Avatuidiego Yes you will receive an email notifying you that the HO has done your review.
@Avatuidiego If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a review then dont. Its your private business.
Maybe you should reach out to the HO privately to discuss the matter to clear the air. Communication is really important, especially as they may not realise what ever they have done and you don’t want the same thing to happen to the next sitter. Just a thought
The rest of the story: I left an honest review. It sat a few days. In the final day to review, she reviewed me and gave me all the stars and a tepid verbal review. That “unlocked” her review from me and she wrote a very long, mostly fabricated reply that shows under my review of her. Very strongly worded, of course. I had sent her an email before I Wrote her review, asking if everything was ok, and she blew me off, saying she was too busy to reply. “Thanks for everything.” I think scores will start reflecting reality now that this system is in place. Scores will fall. Some HOs and sitters will drop out. Interesting to see how it all plays.
At least she gave you 5 stars! Well played!
She sounds like “a real winner.” Ugh.
