This sitter has not done anything wrong. All they did was to ask if they could have a friend come over, as they should. HO said yes to that.
If they meant no, they should have said no. How difficult can it be?

So very true. I saw a cat sit in Italy that clearly stated in their listing that they do not allow the sitter to have a guest during the sit and they referenced a nearby hostel where the sitterâs guest could stay.

Yes - you are right. As there wasnât an opening dialogue (all via THS chat) and the long delayed responses, I finally admitted that the lack of communication at such a late stage, made me feel uncomfortable.
He confirmed the sit, as a solo traveler

THS are very unlikely to do anything about this.
Anyway, it seems like the issue is resolved now.

True. But I said that because the OP said they feel like a nervous wreck. And they now cannot get in touch with the sitter. Nothing is worth geting ill over.
