Most diverse U.S. food city?

Can confirm! I think this article gets it right. One of the best things about this travel lifestyle is all the delicious food.

San Francisco is really amazing, but soooo expensive!

I agree with Seattle (WA) and will also add Portland (OR) to the list, and these cities are less expensive.

I have no trouble believing this, but if you ever do want the best international food in NYC, go to Queens! It’s an underrated borough, but you’ll find tons of mom-and-pop restaurants with no advertising but great food from their home country

Yes, love food in Flushing, especially Northern Chinese.

Yes, Portland is a good food city, too, though not as good as San Francisco.

Ideally, if still working, earn San Francisco pay while telecommuting and live in a place like Portland, where prices are cheaper for everything. And visit San Francisco and other cities.

Tangentially, yum in the U.S. Midwest:

My husband and I’ve road tripped over decades and have visited Kansas City a bunch of times while going cross-country. The first time we went years ago, we were going to a movie in an upscale part of KC and we thought they’d inadvertently charged us for a single child’s ticket, because the prices were so cheap during a matinee. It turned out, no, that was the price for two adults. Prices have risen there, but it’s still a bargain vs. costs on either U.S. coast. And the food has gotten better and better.
