Naming goats

OMIGOD. Sitting goats is a dream my spouse has! We live in NYC, near a park where for the past few years they’ve had working goats come in the summer to clear an area. (And I am definiately signing up to volunteer goatherd next summer!) My favorite goat from the past is Chulo, but a returnee this year, Mallamar is pretty cute too.

@Victory what names did you decide on in the end ? Sorry if I missed it - I have been scanning the thread .

Good goat fact @Angela_L and I read in an article posted by @mars that “ Humans have been domesticating dogs for at least 32,000 years—more than 10,000 years longer than horses” and goats it seems.

When I was 12, we moved to the country and got two adorable, spunky baby African Pygmy goats. The first one came with the name Demitasse because she was so tiny at birth, and we kept the fabulous name because we loved it and she already came when her name was called. Then we got her a sister companion when we realized she was terribly lonesome whenever we weren’t giving her affection. The second one was a birthday present to our mom. We named her Capricornia to feminize Capricorn. We usually called them Demi and Capri.
