New HO needs applicants

We’re leaving in April for two weeks and haven’t any applicants yet. I noticed there are other homeowners writing the same thing. Is it because it’s in April? What else can I do to make the request stand out?

My POV: Six dogs is a lot. I also would be worried about ticks and such from them roaming all day and then coming in to sleep. Seems more like a paid sit than a THS sit.

The 6 dogs is probably preventing many people from even opening your listing. I would change the headline to start with “Outside dogs, no walks needed…”

Can you offer a car, oir arrange to pick up sitters from the nearest train/bus station?

@JohnJen how long can the dogs be left alone while sitter goes to visit the places mentioned in your listing ?

It would be helpful to add this infomation at the start .

It does seem like a lot, but it’s really not. They’re all really easy to work with and the vet treats them every three months with the flea and ticks chewables. We’ve never seen a flea here and a tick is maybe one tick twice a year. How do I reflect that in the post?

Great idea. I am having a hard time explaining that they’re all really easy to care for.

Absolutely. We’re gone from 8-6 everyday. If we go on a date night, we’re out until 10. Also I mentioned it in sitter responsibilities. Is it noticeable or should I mention it elsewhere?

It might be good to move this closer to the start so that it’s not missed .

Your listing looks lovely but 6 is alot of dogs. After reading that they are outdoors and that the sitter can freely go about their day, it looks even better. My only concern as a sitter would be what happens if any of the dogs do not come home at night. Or they get into an accident somewhere and I can’t find them. It’s the same concern as when we’re watching indoor/outdoor cats. It’s stressful to think an animal won’t come home during our watch for whatever reason.

A really unique and lovely sit. I think the set up is fine - we have done a few similar sits with quite a few free roaming dogs and have come to really prefer the set up.

The dogs know where home is and when dinner time is. It’s a bigger number but the routine is the same.

The only one thing I can see is that you need applicants to have their own car therefore your pool of sitters is smaller. I think if you could offer your sitters a vehicle it could really sweeten the deal.

I do think you’ll find someone who will appreciate the tranquility of the surrounds with your lovely pack. Make sure you reply promptly when you do get applicants

Best of luck
