New photo format on listings

I just noticed after returning from a month long vacation and two house sits that the format of the photos have changed in the listings. I much preferred the previous format but it is nice to now see captions underneath the photos.

My question to THS is - can sitters now add captions to their photos? I’ve been a member for many years and had captions underneath my photos which disappeared many years ago. Can we now add captions once again as the homeowners are able to do in their listings?

If I understand you correctly, do you mean captions or descriptions added to sitters’ photos? If so, this option already seems to be available. I have captions next to our photos, as shown in the screenshot below, or do you mean something different?

Yes, that’s exactly what I mean. I had captions underneath my photos and they disappeared many years ago. I’ll go in again and see if they can be reactivated. Thanks for your reply!

Can you see the captions on your profile? My captions are still there from many years ago but when I view my profile, I can’t see them and can’t figure out how to make them visible on my profile.

No captions, unless it is our names. But you can swipe and then you see the photos with your text. Information about you is in the ‘about’ section.

I don’t see the caption with the photos on my profile so I’m presuming homeowners don’t see the captions either. I’ll contact THS - thanks.

Oops. Good that you asked, and maybe other sitters have the same issue too. Sometimes changing browsers can help with ‘weird tech/computer/program stuff’, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem here if whole blocks of text disappear. Good luck!

I think it depends if you are on the app on your phone or on the site on a computer or iPad. One has captions for photos and one does not.

Yes, on Sitter profiles they only show within the app, not on the website…and the main profile photo on the app has no caption (can’t be given one:)

On Host Listings, they appear in both the app & on the website, but you have to “tap in” to the photo carousel to see the caption, vs just scrolling through from the listing page:

Unless it has changed you are able to add captions to your photos.
unfortunatelyunless things have changed other people can’t see the captions.

I just went into the app on my phone and do see the captions - thanks!

The downside I’m seeing is that the photo captions are in white, so often can’t be read against light photos…
