I have just received for the first time a reminder on the app.
I used to get emails but this time, apart from the email, I have got an alert on my cellphone together with the sit alerts.
It says “confirm your arrival time now” and there’s a icon with a clock. My sit starts in two days.
I have already confirmed the time of arrival twice but I think this is a good improvement as we keep getting posts of people who don’t confirm. This alert system should work better than emails.
I noticed that notification on my last few sits and I think it could be a helpful reminder for many to get that sorted out.
We have had one on our last two sits that says “Have you let Bob know how your sit is going?” About 3 days into it….just that one alert type so far though. #strangerandstrangerthoughtalice

Again, although I personally don’t need them, I think it may help some people, not only as a reminder but, especially for newbies, to make people aware of what is expected and helpful for a smooth sit.
Yup, I just ignore those reminders and do what I agreed to with my hosts. My current ones are away for about two weeks and said they don’t need updates — they said, if they didn’t trust a sitter with their dog and home, they wouldn’t leave. They said I could contact them for anything I needed, though.
Same here, our next hosts want a digital detox when they go away - they will be contactable for any issues that arise but have said that they definitely don’t want any other interruptions with updates from home.
I would prefer not to receive all the reminders and only get the alerts I want. They just use precious phone battery charge and are interruptions.
