Newbie Needs Advice

Hello everyone,

I am a 100% newbie to this forum. My husband and I are looking for a pet sitter for our beautiful rescue. She is five years of age and comes with some issues.

I was wondering how all of this works. Do you purchase a membership to list your desired pet sit ? Is this forum for information only ? I tried to download the THS app but can’t seem to retrieve ( sign in on it ) ? Has anyone else had the problem ?

As I said, I am a pet parent and would highly consider becoming a sitter down the road.

My hobbies and interest are for both my husband and myself, we like to hike, long walks, rock climbing, paddle boarding - we live in an outdoor paradise for any and all activities. We live in British Columbia, Canada, above the Okanagan Lake, Naramata. I garden, water colour paint and love to cook.

If anyone could give a little advice on how to get started that would be amazing. We are planning a long 3 month trip in October and I am hoping I am in amble time to get started with finding a wonderful pet sitter match.

Cheers to all,
Tina

Hi Tina,

This is a discussion forum only which THS members and non-members alike can post in. There’s lots of useful advice about crafting a good listing etc so do use the search spyglass for helpful tips.

To list your sit you will need to purchase membership. If the THS app doesn’t work for you, you can always sign up on the main site using a laptop (which I personally find more user friendly). However I haven’t had any problems logging into my THS using my iPhone.

Good luck.

Anyone can have an account on this Forum, which has a separate username and password.

In order to log into the THS App, you need to create a THS account and pay the membership fee, and in that process, you will create a different username and password. You should be able to find a discount code for 20% off pretty easily. Current members can give you a referral code for a 25% discount.

If you need someone for 3 months later this year, it would be a good idea to post your dates asap. There are people who would jump at the chance to stay somewhere for 3 months. Some sitters have given up their homes in order to travel full-time, doing housesitting and finding other lodging in between sits.
