NO NAMES! Have you sat for anyone famous?

A couple of years ago I sat for a prominent politician (of the rather despised governing party) in London.

He and his wife were very welcoming, the pets and house were lovely and it was a great sit.

Last year in France, my family and I sat for the ex-head of a huge record label, the house was full of gold discs and storied instruments, and he (and his ex-model wife) were full of amazing tales about huge figures in the music industry.

I also have a fairly regular sit for someone who is a close relative of ā€˜the Russian Eric Claptonā€™ - whatever that might mean!

So, without any names, have you ever sat for someone famous?

We are currently sitting in Barnes, London. A couple of days ago whilst out walking our dog, we walked past Gary Lineker walking his dog.

We are not football fanā€™s but are big crisp fans so class it as an ā€˜A listerā€™ spot!

(Sorry, that might mean nothing to you at all if you are not from the UK)

Not really sitting for someone famous but one HO and I
had a famous mutual acquaintance Lord Lew Grade.

In Madrid we have sat for a famous Spanish actress (she wouldnā€™t be famous outside Spain though)
It was one of the messiest places ever!

A couple of authors and a radio presenter. One author had his books made in to a very well known TV series. All very humble people. :star_struck:

We sat for a famous whistleblower, but we didnā€™t know that until we arrived and he told us. I read about him on Wikipedia.

Weā€™ve had video calls with famous people I didnā€™t know before the call ā€“ a royal, a singer, etc. They all wanted us to sit for them, but we usually turn those down because they always have tons of staff around. I really canā€™t be bothered with gardeners, window cleaners, housekeepers, and all those people constantly around while Iā€™m there. I just want my peace and quiet. I would sit for an author, probably.

We once sat for an extremely wealthy family from ā€˜old moneyā€™ They were very friendly & humble though. We only found out the extent of their wealth and influence when googling the family name during the sit! Their home was a gorgeous rambling water mill conversion that was previously owned by the British comedian Ronnie Barker and their next door neighbour was ex PM David Cameron! The house was full of interesting artefacts from their fascinating lives and amongst the animals we cared for were a pair of Emus! It was a very memorable sit indeed! :star_struck:

Iā€™ve sat for semi-famous people; an award winning screenwriter, a successful artist, and very successful photographers. Other sits were not for ā€œfamousā€ peeps but extremely successful and wealthy. They have all been so very nice!

No one famous I think but some very successful people.

I was working 15 years in a beauty industry in central London and met many famous people, singers, actresses, celebrities. Funny stories, great memories!

Hey Colin.
He moved to Barnes a few years ago. My brother rows out of Barnes early on Saturday/Sunday and often sees him walking his dog very early.

Iā€™m a regular sitter for an elderly couple in Portugal. The husband is a retired financial broadcasting expert for Swiss national TV. Heā€™s been located in the US, Germany and Japan!
I did a sit not long back in the most expensive property Iā€™ve sat in! Next door recently sold for Ā£12.9 million.
Both of the HOs were retired. He was a partner in Deloitte and she was assistant editor of a national UK newspaper. She was most recently a reasonably successful author with testimonials from her friend Felicity Kendal of The Good Life fame.
I had to collect mail at this house for the previous home owner Eve Pollard (not her real name btw). TV critic and mother of Claudia Winklemen.

We once did a sit for a host who was renting the property off Richard Branson.
As we were about to leave on the final day, Richardā€™s son came to visit the host ( He had a big briefcase so maybe he came to collect the rent )

@Rhe some more for you to read:

@Rhe, fun question. No. But weā€™ve had multiple housesits where discretion was required. Multiple sits on private estates. One that expressly requested privacy as multiple neighbours were well-known business executives. Nice spot!
Perhaps biased as I have zero interest in celebrity circus but, at the end of the day, theyā€™re just people with pets.

We once did a sit in a beautiful old manor house, and stuck on the fridge door, was a wedding invitation to Prince Williamā€™s wedding.

Iā€™m not from the UK or knowledgeable about football but. being from a country where major ligues are a big deal, itā€™s difficult not to be familiar with a few international names from that field.
