I reported a sit to member services that had the same start and end date and they said that there was nothing wrong with it .

I am not sure what happened there, but daily sits are not allowed. There has to be at least one night’s accommodation.
As @Karen_E mentions, we have passed on the good idea, that the system does not allow start and end dates to be the same.
I have done the same on a number of occaions Karen_E but never heard whether this was being looked at. It can’t be more than a simple software tweak to come up with an error message if the dates don’t include an overnight sit. I’ve just been asked to keep reporting any one day sits I might come across when searching but have given up doing this as I don’t feel it is my place to monitor the system when there should be an easy fix.
