Great result from good communication from both parties .

This is a wonderful example of HOs and sitters communicating and being honest about what they want and need and coming up with a solution that works for both parties! Thank you for sharing. So glad this story had a happy ending!

Glad it worked. I would like to add that we actually quite like to overlap for at least one night, especially when it is about dogs. We think it is so much better for the dogs when they get time to accept us as part of their pack!

@AshleyShore you can revise the ts and cs so you know your rights, and HO obligations towards you (and you towards them)

5.2.13. ensure your home is vacated for a Sitter throughout the duration of the Sit, and that no third parties will interfere with the Sitterā€™s enjoyment of your property;

I really think that THS should be stressing this T&C on a regular basis as this happens time and time again. It is unacceptable and against policy.
Us sitters should not be advised to ā€˜suck it upā€™ as itā€™s against THS policy.
We need more protection.

Totally agree a night all together is great for a calm handover, especially with dogs @Wiebke but not 3 days ā€œjust becauseā€ the HO changed their minds on when they would leaveā€¦ā€¦

Hi @AshleyShore

Thanks for coming back to give everyone an update on the situation - Iā€™m so glad this worked out for you.

Big thanks to everyone who took the time to give some advice about this issue, and for sharing the T&C around third parties, as itā€™s important our members know about this.

Iā€™m going to close the thread now that we have an update to confirm everythingā€™s sorted.
