Owner's responsibility

Concerns over HomeOwners responsibilities.

  1. They are not completing their Amenities section
  2. Misleading Sit Advertising: recently a HomeOwner posted a sit in Vicenza, Italy. They are actually in North Carolina!

It’s frustrating, misleads sitters and makes it harder to find the right match.

so the location thing may or may not be their fault. THS, for whatever reason, uses really shitty mapping solutions that puts people in places nowhere near their actual location sometimes.

I think there are two different situations here. One is what @CreatureCuddler mentions as poor mapping by THS and the other is that sometimes owners move and forget to change the location of their listing when they add new dates. I have seen that. They update the home and location section but forget to change location. Again, joint failure. Both HOs and sitters should make sure that everything is right. THS should help make it easier but we know we can’t really rely on this.

Hi @Jenny, it seems you’re putting in practice the reference to the terms not followed.

I think it’s helpful to remind members of the forum so we can all make sure we follow the guidelines.

This has come up a lot!

THS changed the way this worked without informing anyone. If a HO hasn’t moved/renovated since the change and as such has not needed to update their listing, they would have no idea that this needs to be done. This is why you sometimes only see “Wifi” listed as an amenity, because it had existed before as a checkbox and was rolled into the current “Amenities” section.

We have sat for homeowners that have multiple houses in wildly different places but use just their one account to find sitters for each house when they need it.
