Christmas sit opportunities are rolling
in. Are you confirmed, looking, not sitting for Christmas this year, waiting for the last minute sits, undecided if you want to sit?

We confirmed early November in Jeju Island Korea so we’ll be in Asia and hoping we can lock in maybe Thailand or the Philippines for Xmas

@IHeartAnimals I sat on Jeju end of Jan-early Feb 2019 and would love to get back. Except for one day of 10 when it snowed a bit overnight, the weather was great. And the sit was at a higher elevation. The HOs had a house and didn’t live on the school campus.

@toml we were in Korea (not petsitting) for two months last Fall and spent a week in Jeju. Too short. I kept thinking about this restaurant that served grilled abalone and abalone bibimbab so when I saw the listing, I had to apply. After I confirmed the sit, I told the family Mama was hungry for that restaurant and needed to go back. Can’t tell if they think their mom is crazy or if they are just used to it

Love Jeju. House sat in winter 22 and 23. Love the hikes on the Olle. Loved the food too.

We always do a fairly local sit over Christmas and ask if we can invite my mum over for Christmas Day. This year is a little different as we have a repeat sit over New Year that we arranged back in January. I figure there are always plenty of shorter Christmas sits in the UK so we should be able to find something fairly easily.

I don’t sit during year-end holidays.
Last year, I landed a magical sit in Glasgow between U.S. Thanksgiving and Christmas. That was my last of the year. It wasn’t posted till November. That host has since offered me two more sits earlier during 2024, but I had conflicts. Long shot if they repeat their travel to family abroad during the 2024 holiday season — then maybe I’d sit again if timing worked out.
Otherwise, I’ll probably wind up my 2024 sitting in October, in Hong Kong, via Nomador. Then do non-sit travel and enjoy being home. I love the sense of home, especially during winter holidays.

I’ve been out of my home country (U.S.) this year, but will be returning for a medical procedure a bit before Christmas. I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll be up to doing the same sit I’ve done five previous Christmases. I miss those doggies! so much!!!

I’m staying home for the holiday’s and spending it with family and friends. After Christmas i have a private sit for 3 weeks through through a referral. I typically don’t sit over the holiday’s
As HOs, we’ll be posting a sit over the Christmas holiday this year (but not including New Year’s). Should have the dates firmed up in a week or two, and then we’ll post.
And as sitters, we’ll be looking for a sit in the area where we’ll be traveling to. Hope we find something there, otherwise, AirBnB, here we come.

I’m single and was raised Jewish so Christmas isn’t that high on my holiday list. I’ve sat over the 25th 3 of the 5 years I’ve been sitting - but I also traveled over the holiday many times before. Just confirmed 3 weeks starting on Dec 25 this year in Las Cruces, NM with a cockapoo.

I’ve already booked my holiday sit. I actually had not decided if I was going to sit over Christmas, but I did a sit in Luxembourg a couple months ago that was absolutely wonderful and they asked if I would want to sit again for 3 weeks mid-Dec to early Jan. I said yes, of course! So, this year my daughter and I will be spending Christmas in Lux.
If I’m sitting during the holidays, I would only do sits that encompass Christmas and New Year’s (and my birthday, that falls in between) because I want to settle in and enjoy the season without having to pack/clean/move during that week.
