I have checked for you and your listing is showing correctly linked to your forum profile, (others can see this by clicking on your profile photo on here where your listing link is then visible), and others can view your listing and help to assist you.
Your listing looks fine to me. You give very precise times for feedings and walks which may not suit some. It might read better if you left a range for walking times, like “We’re usually up and out for a quick pee around 7:30”. Just moderate the wording slightly as some people might want to up for the morning pee and feeding a little earlier in order to get to walk a little earlier and leave for a bit of sightseeing.
Your listing is lovely and you’re offering your car and guest quarters before and after the sit. The only thing I don’t see is that it’s family friendly and therefore someone like myself wouldn’t necessarily see it. There are sitters with one older teen who might be a nice fit but may not see your listing based on their filters. When I apply, hosts assume my husband is my co-ordinator, but it’s actually my 16 year old daughter. She’s the reason we signed up for petsitting and therefore she is responsible for the administrative coordination of our sits. Good luck, with everything you are offering, I hope you get many applicants soon
Honestly, it looks really great. Just one small tweak I personally wouldn’t put 20lb in the title, not every sitter is going to know weights, and if they don’t then that confusion may mean they scroll on, but also “needs a sitter in Atlanta, GA” isn’t needed in the title, as a sitter would have already known that before clicking through to your profile, so you could have just put the words light-weight in the title instead. It may just slightly increase your number of applicants, that’s all.
And thanks to all the helpful replies. I’ve made the suggested changes, but I’ve also booked with my local boarding facility. I hate to put my dog in there for that long, but I don’t have family available to take care of him for me. I’ve been very successful with THS before, but I think we’re just in an iffy era, so adjustments have to be expected.
Your listing is one of the best I’ve seen. The one change I would recommend is to this section: "there are cameras in some common areas and the pet area, etc. "
I think you mean that this is the common area of the apartment building - not your actual unit. But it could be read that there are cameras within the actual apartment itself, which would not only make sitters feel uncomfortable but is also against THS T&CS. If you revise it to say, “Though there are no cameras in my apartment, the building itself does have security cameras for the common areas such as the lobby and the dog park” or something like that. I personally only sit cats but if I did sit dogs, I would jump at the chance for your listing.
I did a quick search for sits in Atlanta, and there are 99 other sits listed there now!!
That is a lot to wade thru.
For summer sits, I think a 3 month lead time would be better. Can’t fix that now, though.
Your listing is a lot to read, and some of the details could be shared in your Welcome Guide rather than all of it in the listing.
Maybe put some bullet points for the dog care, rather than paragraphs? Obviously, you are a very detail-oriented person, which I truly appreciate, but some sitters might interpret that as “very high expectations.”
Hi, I hope this does not come across wrong, but I think your post is just too much. It really seems like a lovely sit, but very hard to read. Less is more. Here’s hoping you find a perfect match.
