For those who have flexibility on their travel dates, have you (HO) ever posted multiple dates and determine your travel time based on the best sitter? In theory, I don’t like the idea of withdrawing dates, because it may get applicants’ hopes up or waste their time but as a HO, I’m not sure of another way. I’m referring to dates that aren’t too far apart like a few weeks to a month.
I’ve seen this done - typically for a location that doesn’t get many applications. They say clearly in their listing that their dates can be altered for the right sitter. Good to say this in the heading/ intro.
You only need to post dates far enough ahead, I guess. The problem would be that sitters have overlapping sit dates already confirmed and then they are not able to contact you. So far ahead and not a too long period, perhaps.
If you have sitters that have favorited your listing, you can also contact the sitters you like with a message that you are open to discuss dates with the right sitter. Your message will make it possible for them to send you a message. If they have favorited your listing, they are already interested in your location and might also have read your listing and found it appealing.
