As a member of Home Exchange, I recently received an email inviting me to share my local travel tips with the community in Mapstr. It’s an app that allows users to keep track of all their favorite places (restaurants, tourist sights, shops) around the world and share their maps with others. I created my own Mapstr map years ago when I lived in Paris and Prague because people always asked for my favorite spots. Giving them the link for my Mapstr map was the easiest way to share that info.
Home Exchange has taken it a step further by inviting its members to contribute to their Mapstr map. Members have free access to the crowd-sourced map, “The Local’s Guide”, but other people are charged €2.99.
My proposal is that TrustedHousesitters create a Mapstr map to which its members can contribute. What do you think @Ben-ProductManager (my apologies if you’re not the correct person to tag)? Unlike the travel recommendations that are shared on the forum, a Mapster map would allow members to quickly see tips for an area.
Here are a couple of excerpts from the Home Exchange email:
How about sharing your recommendations with the HomeExchange community?
