I see posted dates from a HO. Can we apply if only avail for a portion of the extended stay? Or only apply if avail for entire date range?

Nothing stops you from applying, but home owners will likely choose sitters who are available for the entire period, as it would mean less disruption for the animals.

Not only that. Broken sits have more problems. The first sitter retelling instructions is probably not as good as the original version.
And then there may arise issues of one sitter blaming the other for dirt or for damage.

@ktheiss If you are unavailable because you already have a confirmed THS sit that partial overlaps; the system will block you from applying and there is no other way to contact the Homeowner.
You can favourite the sit and hope that they contact you .

I’ve applied to (and gotten) quite a few sits where I could only do part of it! If I see an ideal sit but the dates are slightly off but I can do most of it I’ll msg the homeowner and let them know!
I always mention that while ofourse getting 1 sitter for the whole stay is probably preferred, I’m available for xyz if you’re unable to find someone or if your dates are flexible at all!
Plans change, sitters cancel, they have neighbours that can cover a couple days if needed etc so in my view it doesn’t hurt to express interest because you might just be the best candidate!
