Short daytime/evening housesit?

Hi all, just wondering if it would be ok to advertise for a person/couple to housesit my home while a family wedding is going on in the back garden. Wedding guests may need to come through the house as the car park is at the front of the house and the wedding is in marquees at the back of the house. Since this means I can’t actually lock up the house I need a housesitter(s) to keep a firm but friendly eye on comings and goings. I would give a very generous tip to reflect the hours worked (roughly midday to midnight). Any thoughts on this welcome, as not sure if this is acceptable. Thanks

Welcome @esther1

Listings on THS must include an overnight stay not just daycare .

Also Third parties ( in this case wedding guests ) are also not permitted in property ( home or garden ) during the stay - the house and garden must be vacated for the time that the house sitter is there .

So the set up you are describing isn’t suitable for THS platform .
A paid pet sitting service like rover will be more suitable for you in this instance .

Exactly as @silversitters has pointed out, your request isn’t permitted with Trusted House Sitters, sorry. This site is an unpaid, mutually beneficial exchange only, where an owner goes on holiday/away for a minimum of 1 night (but usually 1 - 2 weeks or more) and an unpaid pet sitter (usually a traveller from abroad or elsewhere in the country) cares for the owner’s pets and home in exchange for a free stay in their home and the opportunity to see a new place.

Rover or a paid local service is your best bet, or a neighbour or friend who is willing to do this for you. Good luck and hope you have a lovely wedding

Think you need to advertise for a door man/ bouncer, not a house sitter lol.
