So I got started with pet sitting, maybe less than a year ago and it’s been an amazing experience, getting to travel - hanging out with my animal friends, I’ve saved a ton of money on hotels. I couldn’t believe it, and still sort of can’t.
Whoever thought of this is amazing! and I guess it’s one of those things that people have been doing for years, but I’m just finding out lololol.

I had no idea until I discovered THS, neither did my partner, our lives have changed in the most fantastic way since our pet sitting life began, it’s brilliant.
Great to hear. It’s an amazing lifestyle. We have only been sitters for three years and have 50 sits under our belt but it’s clear to me the concept has gone from one of community to a private equity money grab.
The only thing that’s keeping it from Armageddon is the amazing cadre of sitters and home owners. Time will tell what gives out first. The members or the corporation.
@CatHealer, welcome to THS Forum. Seemingly like @HappyDeb and @Oztravels, we had never heard of housesitting concept. But over the last 3.5 years now it has blown our imaginations. We have been full-time housesitters and completed ~75 housesits in ~20 countries. Many times we’ve had to pinch ourselves at remarkably fortunate experiences. And we can see the joy and relief that our efforts give to pet parents. Just today, while housesitting in a lovely property in Western Canada, we watched humpback whales swim past our window - albeit maybe 1km offshore

Keep dreaming. Open imagination. And experiment. We’ve learned a great deal about ourselves, pets, pet owners, locations & more. Takes more effort than we anticipated, but it’s a heck of a journey. Enjoy the ride 
I completely agree, and welcome to the community. I housesat in Australia and New Zealand before and after the pandemic, for a year in each country and literally saved thousands of pounds in accommodation. I certainly couldn’t have afforded those experiences without housesitting. I used other platforms in addition to THS. I’ve also sat in Geneva for 2 weeks more recently and 3 months in Ireland last summer, the rest all over England. I have Mexico in my sights.
Yeah, when I told a few of my friends, they were like “o, I’ve been traveling all wrong…my whole life” lolololol
