I just had a sitter apply for my sit. We went over the details and I thought we had come to an agreement. He then responded that he required $100 a day to cover his expenses! I was quite surprised to say the least. Has anyone else come across this?
Their request violates the terms and conditions of Trusted Housesitters. Please report them to membership services.

Report him, a sitter can never ever ask for money with THS.

He was likely a new sitter who did not understand the concept of THS.
Explain to him the reason asking for payment in cash is not appropriate then report him to membership services so they can contact him to be sure he understands the rules

Is this sitter new to THS? Did he make his request verbally, or in writing (if the latter, please send screenshots to MS). He might be uninformed or might be an opportunist, but it’s not your problem. Report.
