Hi
Please, please, please could the listing that the sitter sees show the length of time a pet can be left for?
This information is provided by the HO but doesn’t get fed into the listing, and if a sitter asks they sometimes get a funny response from the HO.
Plus it will help a sitter decide before applying for a sit.
Thanks!
Diane
100% agree with this @DianeS - both sides need to see this on the listing from the off as would prevent a lot of issues. #forewardedisforearmed
Yes. So apparently, they put some effort into programming this on the HO side of the user interface.
And then left this effort halfway.
The result is worse than if they had just left it like it was. (Not unheard of on THS…)
… and then add a filter to enable sitters sift for sits that meet their circumstances ( eg exclude pets that can never be left alone from search results ) .
I am on a sit now where the listing and Welcome Guide says pets can be left for 4 hours. However, the rigid schedule of feeding and walking times and durations only gives me a 2 hour break in the afternoon. I am not allowed to take them with me. So the things I had hoped to do while here are not going to happen and there’s a lot of sitting around indoors.
Consider adjusting the feeding and walking times to fit your needs.
Flexibility is key to this working for YOU.
THS is about fair exchange not a paid service.
I touched on that and was shot down in flames. I was made to take my sunnies off, not allowed to use the hot tap, all sorts of other silly rules I won’t bother to list here. She’s 80 and very set in her ways. Thankfully it is a very short sit. She needs a paid sitter that she can treat like a servant.
Just answered something on another t;thread about how the whole about the pet thing that exists for homeowners to fill out, doesn’t translate to the listing.
I was aware of this stuff because I always check how the “preview” of my listing looks after I edited it. I think that comes naturally due to various experience with forms and writing.
The disconnect may be that most homeowners filling in the stuff for a listing, may not actually look and proofread the listing from the preview. So the takeaway for homeowners is: Always check the preview feature to see what sitters can see and what they can’t.
I’m combined and a while back, THS changed the order in which things appear on the sitter profile. I also made changes to have a better flow after I discovered that.
Please warn other sitters in your review.
You are very thorough! I suspect most other HOs would assume that if they provide info it’ll be seen by sitters. I wonder what other info isn’t passed on?
Hello @DianeS Thank you for tagging the team, they are currently not online but I can help in the meantime.
The Product team do not monitor all of the forum discussions, they do however keep an eye on this thread What Features Would You Like to See on THS?
You can also share your feedback directly with Membership Services. The forum team also make sure we pass on as much feedback as we can especially about Product updates.
This thread might also help with this discussion. I know that the Product team are working on how best to share this data, any updates we will let you know
Thank you - aren’t you on vacation?!?
You are so welcome @DianeS - I leave work for annual leave on Friday so soon!!!
And do check it both on the app and the website, like @pietkuip pointed out in another thread.
Plus remember, that the info from your welcome guide that you, as a HO, can see on your listing when clicking the little round pic of your pet on the app, is not visible to anyone else than you. That’s discussed in the link @Carla shared.
This really should be more straight forward!
A 19th century servant, it seems.
She may be more mellow when you return for a repeat sit?
I don’t do paid sits
