Summer Festivals

As we are heading for Summer in the Northern hemisphere does anyone have any festivals they are planning on going to?

Perhaps you are going to Glastonbury or Pride Parade in the US, it would be great if we could share and compile so others can find out about them. :notes::sunny::rainbow:

CMA Fest in Nashville

@Catherine.L We have seen this advertised in SF before but not been to it as yet, but it looks fab!

it’s quite expensive :upside_down_face: ,we are thinking about it :grinning:

I live within a couple of miles from Heaton Park, Manchester (UK) where the Parklife festival is held but Ive never been - generally the line-up doesnt really appeal. It’s pretty big (c80k attendance). I could probably make a small fortune renting out my spare room and offering a chauffeur service

There’s also another smaller local event called Festwich (because the location is Prestwich) which is all tribute bands. I’m thinking about that one this year.

Hi @Ketch - you are right about letting your spare room for the weekend - we used to live in Manchester city centre and let ours on Airbnb. Parklife was always by far the busiest weekend of the year. Name your price and someone will pay it!!

Oh, @Catherine.L, I’ve heard such great things about Outside Lands. I lived in the Bay Area for 10 years but somehow never made it to Outside Lands. I hope you go and have a fabulous time!

Not a festival, but dear hubs and I will be in Australia and New Zealand this July/August for the Women’s World Cup. We love supporting womens’ teams.

I know a couple of people that have attended the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium, (if you happen to be in the vicinity from Fri, Jul 21, 2023 12:00 PM - Sun, Jul 30, 2023), and they absolutely loved it!

Tomorrowland is a large electronic music festival held in Belgium. It used to be organized as a joint venture by the original founders, the brothers Beers. The festival takes place in the town of Boom, Belgium 10 miles south of Antwerp, 20 miles north of Brussels, and has been organised since 2005. It has since become one of the most notable global music festivals. :notes::microphone::slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve been to several great music festivals in the San Francisco area:

  • To start summer off with a bang, there’s BottleRock, a 3-day festival in Napa featuring musicians like Lizzo, Post Malone, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
  • Mid-summer there are jazz festivals in San Francisco and San Jose, both super fun events we went to year after year. The Fillmore Jazz Festival in San Francisco is free.
  • To end the summer there’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, another free music festival. This one’s held in Golden Gate Park, and they get some great musicians.

Thank you @Karen-Moderator These all sound fab! We are going to have to try and attend one or more of these soon I think, especially the jazz festival in San Francisco :saxophone::notes::slightly_smiling_face:

So far, I have tickets to:
The Cure in San Diego, late May
The Cure in Miami, early July (may sell those)
Brandi Carlile and various others, Wolf Trap, DC area, late June

My beloved Floyd Fest (late July, Floyd, VA) is canceled due to issues with its new location.

@Katie All sound fab!! It’s a shame about the Floyd Fest in July though.

Goodwoof Saturday 20th – Sunday 21st May

A celebration of all things dog, Goodwoof is a new event hosted by Goodwood dedicated to people’s canine companions.

Guests can sit back with a glass of Taittinger champagne and relax in The Studio presented by Randox health company with a spot of sound bathing (a meditative experience) reiki or dog yoga. :dog::blush:
