Tea or Coffee?

I personally like Argentinian Yerba Mate. I like the brands La Merced and Pongo. I typically order from yerbacrew.

I have a difficult time drinking Yerba from Uruguay. It seems to get packed together and difficult to draw water up through the straw (and I do have a straw intended for Uruguayan Yerba). Maybe I’m doing something wrong. Lol.

Good stuff though - I’ve come to really enjoy drinking Yerba Mate. I probably enjoy it 3-4 times a week.

@ExploreDreamDiscover Enjoy Paris and if you do visit the Angelina Café and try their hot chocolate, please share a photo & let us know what it’s like as I haven’t tried it as yet! I definitely recommend you try their Mont-Blanc creation though, it’s delicious! :face_savoring_food:

Just reorganized one of our tea drawers. My husband pillages whenever he makes tea — boxes and canisters get pulled out and randomly tossed back in.

Order helps me see what we have on hand, to avoid duplicate buying. Reordering the drawers is nostalgic as well, because certain tea comes from our travels.

Meanwhile, I’m starting the day with a vat of ginger drink, not tea. I discovered the ginger packets (mix with hot or cold water) at Trader Joe’s, a U.S. grocer. They’re good, because you can really taste the ginger and feel its bite at the back of your throat even after drinking.

How many teas do you think you have now @Maggie8K?

I’m drinking Constant Comment, which is kind of expensive to get here in the UK, but it’s so tasty.

Love tea from Gods Own Country @twitcher :star_struck: Although Welsh Glengettie will give it a run for its money! #challengeset

Maybe 30 to 40, @Jenny. We have the main drawer, which is deep. Plus, my husband has a tea cabinet in his man cave and I have a tea drawer in my home office. There’s also a cabinet in the kitchen with I don’t know how much tea is crammed, because it’s where my husband stashes the bigger boxes and I never look, since I’d have to grab a stepstool.

Glad you enjoy CC. It’s longstanding favorite for many folks in the U.S. It’s among the more affordable teas here.

@Jenny I love how Constant Comment tea got its name. Constant Comment tea was created by Ruth Bigelow in 1945 as she was unhappy with the variety of teas on the market at the time, so she created her own blend of black tea with orange rind and spices. The new flavour was so popular among her friends that it received “constant comments” therefore giving it it’s name! :hot_beverage:

I aspire to have a large tea collection @Maggie8K  I think I have around 15 types in my cupboard!

CC is such a good cosy tea, as is the Celestial Seasonings “Sleepytime Tea” - I learned about CC and Sleepytime from a movie called “Scott Pilgrilm vs The World” which I was a huge fan of:

@Sam_F I didn’t know that - today I learned! I can see why it was so popular, it’s delicious!

Love that clip! Thanks for sharing, @Jenny!

I’ve been surprised by how many sit homes in the U.S. have tea collections, even when the hosts say they’re into coffee and not so much into tea. Maybe because U.S. homes often have significant storage? It’s also easy for many Americans to buy groceries and such, since most of us drive. When I lived or have sat abroad, I’m much more aware of what I have room and strength to carry in my shopping bags.

I’m just curious, has anyone ever tried Butter Tea, also known as Po Cha, which is a traditional Tibetan drink made with black tea, salt, and yak butter (or cow’s milk butter), and is a staple beverage in Tibet? :face_with_monocle::teapot:
