The perfect application?

As sitters we don’t have much choice. We have to add a lot of our pics and personal information in order to be considered. I doubt anyone will select us if we add only pet pics.

I still don’t understand what is wrong with “Hi” ?

I do the same.

Nothing  , I use it all the time.

With all due respect, I agree with Colin.

“Hi” is very informal and casual. Sounds like something a teenager would say. My opinion.

“Hello” sounds more friendly and mature. It rolls off the tongue better, followed by someone’s name.

Or you could use “Dear,” but that sounds a bit outdated, something Granny would say. :joy:

Perhaps it’s a cultural thing - I’ll give “hello” a try and see how it goes!

I, too, use Hello for my applications @PVGemini but it’s interesting that most of the owners respond using Hi!

As a HO, I would never respond to a one word message — it seems like a mistake or a flake. And the actual application should be brief and specific. NO WAY do I want to wade through 17 cut and paste paragraphs. And yes I definitely look at profiles — in detail.

I think what you are saying equates to a perfect job application covering letter which shouldn’t exceed one page. I used to teach this sort of stuff!

We have a pretty detailed sitter page. Usually I just keep it short and invite them to read our profile. Not once we have been declined and every pet parent wanted us to sit for them after the video chat.

How about:
“Greetings Earthlings, I’d like to sit your pets?”
