Edited to tag @hitchedandhiking . Based on your feedback, she’ll choose the meeting date and I’ll help facilitate.
Just a reminder to anyone that’s interested that the THS Bookclub meeting is on Wednesday 27th May, discussing “The Lion Women of Tehran” by Marjan Kamali.
I’ve started using the ‘Libby App’ where you can loan e-books and Audiobooks from your local library..it works well for me as it’s free and I’m always on a tight budget!
The downside is if a book is popular you sometimes have to wait…I’ve got this book on reservation but unfortunately I won’t get it in time for the call on 27th but I might join in anyway..if that’s ok?
Jess will lead this Wednesday’s book discussion. I’ve DM’d the Google Meet link to those who’ve attended before or who’ve expressed interest in attending.
If you haven’t received it and would like to join us, drop me a line and I’ll forward it to you.
Sorry @jimmysmum I missed your message - yes of course you can join, but there will be some spoilers in the discussion! I’ve not heard of the Libby App before but it sounds great, I’ll be downloading it for sure.
Many thanks to Jess for hosting a great discussion of this book. Besides being a good story, it was a window into the Iranian culture. I like a book where I learn something new.
It was wonderful to see everyone!
We left with the suggestion that our next book be relevant to current events or life in the world today. Please head over to this topic to post your ideas or recommendations.
