So, where do you start with Glasgow?? Pollok Park with Pollok House (an 18th century mansion), the Burrell Collection in its newly refurbished home (a huge private collection of art), the park itself with a herd of Highland cattle; House for an Art Lover (designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh) within Bellahouston Park; Botanic Gardens in the West End which is a trendy area with lots of cafes and independent shops; Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum; the Riverside Museum (transport) and the Tall Ship; the Tenement House to see how people used to live; shopping in Buchanan Street; lively restaurant scene in the Merchant City; St. Mungo’s Cathedral and the Necropolis. I’m attaching photos from last week’s visit to House for an Art Lover.
