TrustedHousesitters 2024 Impact Report

Hi everyone,

This #BCorpMonth, we’re celebrating our work alongside thousands of other B Corps around the world and sharing our second annual Impact Report!

Being a part of the B Corp community means acting collectively to accelerate global change at scale for a cleaner, greener, fairer future for all living things. As a Certified B Corp, we believe there’s a better path to a better world - one of action and purpose, inspiration and community.

In this report, we celebrate some of the highlights achieved in 2024, but more importantly, it shines a light on the areas where we can – and must – improve, after all, progress comes from acknowledging where we’re doing well and where we need to grow!

Explore some of the key highlights from our report below:

Key highlights: 2024 in numbers

  • We saw a 54% absolute reduction in our emissions compared to our baseline year of 2023!
  • After almost two years of hard work and dedication, we achieved B Corp Certification
  • Together, we facilitated 2,234,436 nights of pet sitting
  • We welcomed 77,244 new pets to our platform and rounded off 2024 with 234,389 pets in our community
  • We also supported 36 charities close to our hearts and donated £38k to help charities carry out vital work

Rescue and re-homing

In 2024, we continued working closely with our trusted charity partner, the Helen Woodward Animal Center, to support their life-changing work:

  • We donated £23K+ to help the Helen Woodward Animal Center feed and care for their rising puppy population
  • We created a pet care hub to help remove some of the blockers prospective pet parents were facing, such as training videos addressing leash pulling and separation anxiety
  • We provided a reduced TrustedHousesitters membership for all adoptions made through Helen Woodward in 2024

I must be behind the curve, but what does B Corp mean, without me having to google it? Could your post say what it means, please? Thanks!

Wowzers, 2.2 million nights of pet sitting in 2024 - so over 6,000 housesits active on a typical night. Gosh, congrats THS!
I had no idea of the magnitude of housesitting industry. Or of THS commercial footprint. Heck, I had no idea that THS was a meaningful sized business with private equity investors. Huh, blow me over with a feather .
Certainly puts the occasional gnarly situational disclosure on THS Forum into context.

Hi @botvot

Here’s a snippet from a post we shared about B Corp last year :slightly_smiling_face:

So, what is B Corp and what does it mean for TrustedHousesitters?

It means we’ve joined a group of global ethical business leaders with one unifying belief - making business a force for good. It’s not just a tagline - B Corps are held to the highest environmental and social standards and are legally committed to operating in the best interests of people, pets, and the planet.

The assessment to get B Corp status is a rigorous analysis, evaluating the impact a business has on its employees, members, communities, and the environment.

This wouldn’t be possible without our incredible members, who are all a part of creating a sustainable business that prioritises the wellbeing of animals through in-home pet care, while also reducing the environmental impact of travel through home sharing.
