Hello, THS community,

Just a forewarning for sitters: I am closing out a completed 3 month terrible housesit. See my thread here:

Please, they are still treating me like a servant (unpaid employee really). Totally unsupportive and passive aggressive. When bringing policies to their attn, there is no acknowledgement, minimal willingness to compromise and continued “threats” of continuing to break 3rd person policy. I REPORTED THEM EARLY ON but they’ve posted a new listing! How was that approved? I await Member Service’s reply.

P.S. I made the choice to stick this out since I needed to stay in this area. I take full responsibility for that.

THS member services / complaints team don’t read the forum and will only act if a formal dispute is raised .

Sounds like the best way to handle it at this point, is a point by point review that is factual and objective.

You’ve done really well to hang on in there for such a long time, but I know you liked the dogs. Shame on the home owners not to appreciate you nor realise just how lucky they are that you didn’t walk, as you would have been entirely within your rights to do so.
They need striking off & I hope that they are. Please let us know the outcome of your dispute. You deserve many medals for sticking this out!

You did well finishing the sit. Report the violations to THS as you have, and leave a factual review. After that, put it in your rear view mirror.

Focus on you, and getting out of a situation where you need THS for housing. That isn’t its purpose so focus on fixing that.

Otherwise, report, review, and move on.

Wow. I think everyone’s been supportive, and definitely understand you’ve had a tough couple of months. But you have posted quite a bit about it, so I don’t know how much more you would like other than what’s been said. The advice has been to report, review, and move on.

Four more days to go!!! You got this Molly! I was perusing the June sit. Looks like they have made some updates to clarify the possibility of clearing snow for propane refills so thats 1 change they have made to be more upfront with sitters. You inspired them to do that, well done!! Sometimes people dont jive and unfortunately you have found each other and toughed it out for THREE months. woof!! Glad you have lovely companions to keep you company. Hang in there and take your time with the review, maybe start your draft if you have free time. I see they of course have no reviews as you mentioned they are 1st timers. Keep us posted on everyones reviews and also if they remain on THS. Seems hard and time consuming to get a listing removed from THS. Hope your next sit is a much better fit. Meanwhile here is a pic of my loafing cat to brighten your day. :laughing: :black_cat:

Your support is just in time thank you. And! They added the propane detail those stinkers! I have a screenshot of their original listing to prove it just in case haha. Glad this community is here. Wouldn’t have thought of that otherwise.
