My name is Skye, and I’m currently in Vancouver until end of March, enjoying a wonderful sit in North Vancouver with a very cool cat named Reggie.

I’d love to organize a meet-and-greet for local sitters and hosts who are interested in connecting, sharing experiences, and exploring ways to grow and promote the Trusted Housesitters community. The idea would be to create a welcoming, low-key gathering that not only brings the community together, but also helps introduce new potential sitters and hosts to the platform.

At the event, we could:

  • Share real sit and host experiences

  • Highlight how travel is possible through trust and community

  • Promote the 2-month free Trusted Housesitters membership

  • Showcase and discuss any sitting-related products or resources that members are currently using or promoting

I’m thinking of hosting this sometime in January or February, and I’d love to co-host with anyone who’s interested. If you have ideas for venues, formats (coffee meetup, casual talk, Q&A, mini info session), or creative ways to make it engaging, I’d love to hear them.

An idea for you is to put it on meetup.com. You can attract potential PP who don’t know this type of arrangement exists. You can also give them your referral info and get free months.

yes that is a good idea , thank you. I am not a host on meetup and I could reach out to other hosts in the area to host a meetup on their account but then I relinquish autonomy. I definitely will try it out. :smiling_face: My idea for the event is everyone to bring their QRCode to promote themselves too. Share the 2 months free, so to say.
