I have just come back from a fabulous week in Lake Como. My first visit to the any Italian lake and it is a truly beautiful part of the world. Stayed in a little village north-east called Bellano, wonderful in the way that it was less touristy than many other villages, so not overcrowded.
Ferry to all the other villages along the lake was very easy and so pleasant on the water. Lake was beautiful to swim in. I wanted to share a few photos.
It was the gorge in Bellano itself … Orrido di Bellano. The interesting note was that is supplies the whole village with its water and tons of water still goes into the lake. It was so refreshing to be in there. There are so many fountains around to fill your water bottles.
Wow @Therese, what a beautiful location to enjoy your holiday. Thanks for sharing your photos and telling us about this little gem of a village that is less touristy.
Hi @Therese welcome back! What a beautiful time you must have had. This is one area we cannot wait to visit, but it’s going to be a year and a half or so before we can. I will just have to live vicariously through your pics for now!
Truly stunning. When I was there it was so hazy. The day we were leaving the skies cleared and you could see the Alps. It looks like you would have experienced that, too! Happy for you.
Oh, @Therese, your beautiful pictures just bumped the Lake Como area up on my bucket list! Such a beautiful region, and you captured its beauty so well. Thanks for sharing your pictures!
