You donât need to notify sitters who have favorited your listing. Some hosts may only travel once a year, theyâre not about to tell sitters who favorited them that they wonât be listing dates for a while.
Weâve got 265 sitters who favorited our listing, Iâm certainly not going to contact each and every one of them if itâs going to be a while until our next sit and I donât think theyâd care. Sitters favorite a listing so they will receive a notification that when dates are posted, itâs not like they visit the hostâs page periodically to see whatâs going on.
@Catherine.L, do you have any active confirmed sits or active listings?
Clearly you should advise any confirmed housesitters that the location of housesit has changed!
Re favourites, perhaps depends on your situation. Do you find it easy or difficult to find housesitters? Does your listing (property, pets, location, etc) - or indeed personal preferences - materially narrow the pool of housesitters?
If there are specific housesitters - good prior sitters, strong prior applicants, etc - then no harm in reaching out with brief update and to maintain dialogue.
We think more importantly is change in your listing content prior to next active listing - to transparently state that reviews relate to prior property.
Good luck with the move!
Not understanding what childcare has to do with any of this but as @GotYourBack stated, you need to address that the sit location will change (that part totally went over my head).
Consider deleting all listing information that is irrelevant, leaving your bio intact, with a message that youâre moving with a planned occupancy date. If you have information and pictures of the new home, then add them when available.
Although if you delete most of your current listing, itâs possible that THS will remove itâs âliveâ status, thatâs just a guess. You might want to shoot a message to member services and maybe ask if itâs possible to suspend the listing for a while.
Good Luck with the move. No need to advise anyone or suspend your listing.
The next time you are in need of a sitter just update your listing and make it clear all reviews previous to your move date are for your previous property/area.
I saw a listing that had the first sentence read, To all of you that have saved our listing, Please note that we have moved. I think thatâs all you have to do. Thanks for being a nice PP and asking the question.
You can specify in your profile that youâve moved when you post new pet sitting dates, and explain that the reviews before that date belong to your previous home. This way, both people who have favorited you and new sitters applying can have the full picture. Itâs quite common for hosts on the platform to change their place of residence.
Iâm sorry I still donât understand unless youâre using the term child care to describe care of pets. Reading back on your earlier post I guess thatâs what you meant when you said you had no child care planned but understand my confusion!
You donât have to do anything. Favoriting your page just means theyâd get an alert next tiime you have a sit. What you will have to do is next time you host is change all of the information on location which you can easily do from the dashboard.
If you want a general notice for people who might âfavorâ your locaiton in the future, you could also mention it in your listing. You coud also make your listing ânot liveâ by removing photos.
Yes⌠I had a faved listing from a previous sit, and I got a notification when they posted another sit in their new house. I couldnât figure it out âhuh? I didnât fave thatâŚâ until I clued in who it was
