We are so excited! We just confirmed our first sit for a couple of cute little furballs! We were on the other side of the table for the last 2 1/2 years as we were always looking for sitters for our sweet baby, but sadly we lost her a couple of months ago. We have now decided it is time for us to switch over to being sitters, so yayyyy…we confirmed our first sit for April. So excited to get started on this side and have really needed some cuddles and loves from sweet babies needing sitters. We also plan on retiring in the next year and a half, so this gets us started for future plans around the World!

I understand completely how you feel @long1016 as this was me in 2016. I’d had to say goodbye to my 19 year old cat in the June and by August I had flown across the other side of the world to do my very first sit - 2 beautiful cats who did so much to help me in my grief. Enjoy those cuddles with the cute furballs and happy pet sitting!

Congratulations! on your first sit. I’m sure the first of many to come :-). I’m so sorry to hear of your loss - there is always an empty space in your heart when you lose a loved pet. But housesitting is a great way to share your love of animals - you will be falling in love over and over again. It is hard to leave a sit but there is always the next one to look forward to

Ahh that’s lovely you have a sit! Although we have had cat sitters for some years, we did our first house sit last year and simply loved it. The dog ensured we got our exercise and had lots of fun, it was interesting to experience it from the viewpoint of a sitter, and we felt quite sad to leave the dog (although happy to return to our cat!!). We’re looking forward to some retirement travels too, it’s such a great way to visit. Good luck.

Congrats!
I just completed a sit with a family friendly owner.
Now I am wondering if I do the feedback first or she does.
She left out fantastic instructions on what to do and what I was able to enjoy at her house. She even left a bottle of wine for me lol
I cannot even see where to leave feedback.

I finally got my first sit, too!! So many applications, most unresponded to and/or declined without a word, even a video call where I was told I was the person for the job and we’d discuss the details “next time.” This HO responded almost immediately with a heartfelt message and confirmation request without even “meeting” me. I’m so excited! The pet seems like such a sweet little snugglebunny.
