BBC “Who Do You Think You Are” A fascinating series from the BBC

“Lost connections and unfamiliar histories are revealed as celebrities trace their family trees. Discover stories of courage, joy, sacrifice and resilience - everyone has a tale to tell” Source BBC

In the previous series Dame Judy Dench

“Shakespearean actor, movie star and national treasure Dame Judi Dench’s journey begins with her father Reginald Dench, who never spoke of his experiences during the First World War, as she tries to find out how he won his gallantry medals. Judi’s investigations then take a truly epic turn, leading her to 16th-century Denmark and nobility. Judi also discovers, to her delight, some incredible Shakespearean links” Source BBC

Hi @cat.tails Yes, I watched Nolly and loved it. Crossroads was a teatime staple back home in Herefordshire where I grew up , and Nolly lived in my old hometown of Ross-on-Wye.
On ITVx I really enjoyed Maryland, a story of a mother who goes missing on the Isle of Wight, starring Suranne Jones.
On Netflix I recently binge watched Merpeople about the subculture of mermaids in the States. Fascinating and bizarre! I enjoyed The Diplomat on Netflix as well.
On BBC iplayer ‘Ten Pound Poms’ which is very good but quite some violence and discriminatory language typical of the era. In the 50s/60s Brits could go and start a new life in Australia for ten pounds. Certainly never a dull moment if you can stomach the brutality.

If you get a chance to watch “Hunger” do it! Great story about a street food vendor who is approached and hired by the top chef in the World…only to find out the consequences of such notoriety.

This was fascinating… I recently watched the Andrew Lloyd Webber one. So intriguing.

Hi @Debbie-L. Hunger sounds intriguing, but I can’t find it. Where did you see it?

Hi @Karen_E it’s on Netflix

It’s on Netflix

I watched Queen of Oz on BBC - it is very amusing.

I also rewatched The Witcher S1 and S2 and will start to watch S3 soon.

Last weekend, I watched a lot of Glastonbury music festical - my favourites were The Pretenders and the Nova Twins

@cat.tails I’m currently watching Queen of Oz, it’s a bit meh, quite cringe worthy actually. Not sure I will see it through.

I watched a good thriller on Appletv. It is called Sharper, there are plenty of twists and turns!

I also finally watched S1 and S2 of Slow Horses - I thought it was really excellent and I look forward to Season 3

@cat.tails
These look fun. I don’t have appleTV but I’ll look for them if petsitting in a home that has this channel.

Slow Horses was great. Ted Lasso is awesome :raised_hands:t3:

I started to watch Bad Sisters on appletv. Great cast, well-written. It won a 2022 Peabody Award and the 2023 BAFTA for Best Drama.

@ExploreDreamDiscover same with me, as a nomadic cat sitter, I watch whatever the hosts are subscribed to. Most hosts seem to have netflix and prime. The other streaming services are bonuses when I find that the hosts have them
