I don’t use the app but still get such messages. I also get fed up with the ‘Congratulations on your 5 star sit, now rate THS’. Why would I want to do that every time I’ve given an owner 5 stars?
You don’t get these tips if you disable notifications on your phone. I never get notifications about anything what’s going on, because I don’t need them. I’m not my phone’s slave.
When I have time to look at my phone, I’ll see important stuff, otherwise, no thank you.
Hello everyone!
Thanks for your honest feedback on the tips - I’ve brought it to the attention of the team. ![]()
I’ve always found this confusing, surely it would make more sense to congratulate you when you GET 5 stars. Enjoying a nice experience isn’t something people usually get congratulated for.
You mentioned on another thread that you didn’t want to be enslaved by pets’ routines as well. And then mentioned here that you don’t want to be enslaved by your phone. I find that interesting, because I don’t think most people worry about being enslaved or see it that way.
For me, for instance, I get notifications all the time and have for decades. Shrug. I use them to help me when relevant. If not, it’s just background hum. I think some folks might find such more overwhelming, which might lead to the possibility of feeling “enslaved.” I know some young folks who don’t even use smart phones, for instance, because they can’t take the “noise.” It’s good to know yourself and your needs, but the rest tends to be projecting. I mention that because you mentioned turning off notifications, which I think most people with phones know about — it’s not that we don’t know how to (de)activate if we want to.
There are a lot of reasons I don’t use the app. I will now add this patronising nonsense to the list.
Micromanaging, patronising, superfluous and just plain stupid.
Perhaps an appropriate response might be something along the lines of, “Hmmm, how about using this time, money and energy to address the actual valid issues which plague the system/company ?”
Yes, I might have an issue with not being in control of my own situation. ![]()
