Like the old song says… “oh I do like to be beside the seaside…”
I was just wondering, what’s your favourite seaside location? Maybe it’s a traditional British seafront, with a nearby funfair, and a 99 ice cream, or maybe it’s something more grand such as La Baule, in France.
However you prefer to spend your time by the sea, I’d love you to share your favourite seaside locations with me, and as always, photos are very much appreciated!
I spent years on the island as a kid and it spoiled me. The Pacific was warm and blue. The sunsets routinely gorgeous. The people always friendly and generous.
Once, I returned for college break and headed to a party with friends. Turns out we went to the wrong house, which we learned about half an hour in. The hosts urged us to stay and have more food and drink, though, because that was typical hospitality on Guam.
My favorite: When the sunset turned the sky a vivid purple. Amazing.
The warm water really spoiled me. The first time I visited San Francisco and saw people coming out of the Pacific in wetsuits, I was befuddled. As a kid, I didn’t realize that the ocean could be so cold, by contrast.
So for for me, Biarritz, France has been the best seaside. Although, outside of THS. It’s a friend’s cat. Beautiful area. I’d love France and Spain a lot more if there was a greater numbrr and diversity of wildlife.
The many beaches and beautiful sunsets of Costa Rica that we have been able to visit many times in the past years thanks to the wonderful sitters from THS.
The thing about the sea is the constant changes and moods. At our house in the Philippines we loved the sunsets and watching the local fishermen prepare to head out each day.
