I’m a landscape photographer and this year I would like to photograph the Bluebells in England over Easter. So naturally I’m looking for sits right now. I won’t have a car, so I need to find a place that is close to a beautiful location.
(I’ve been to Arundel two years ago, we got bikes from our host and had the most magic walks through the blue flower fields, so this year I want to go to a different place.)
Therefore I want to use the crowd intelligence of all the wonderful sitter and house owner from England: Where are the most beautiful bluebell forests that you know? In which part of the country should I look for sits?
This is Renishaw Hall Derbyshire. You can get there by public transportation and as a bonus if you go on a Friday you can have a tour of the Hall where the famous Sitwell family lived. Derbyshire has the beautiful Peak District with so much to explore. Sheffield where I live makes it easy to get there, transport is good but not so much if you are in the depths of the countryside
Sussex-the South Downs has multiple sites you can search this fb group for the best ones: Brighton Skies. We also get Bluebells showing first as it’s warmer down south.
The next best area is Surrey: Winkworth Arboretum.
We have two sets of woods near our home that have fantastic displays of bluebells and are looking for a sitter starting April 16th. We are in a village in Worcestershire but you could use my e-bike. I often cycle to both sets of woods myself. Bluebell season in the UK is now earlier than it used to be due to climate change.
These photos were taken a long time ago when my hubby and I used to live in Surrey. They were taken in Margery Wood which is owned by the National Trust and is located near Mogador in Surrey. The bluebells are always spectacular there every year.
