So instead of bells ringing in Christmas Day, the house alarm here rang in the day after…. at 03:30, even though it wasn’t set so of course the HO hadn’t left the “off” code. Over 2 hours later (my ears are still recovering!) my WhatsApp plea for help was answered - the HO is in a different time zone, 2 hours ahead of here. Thankfully the home is remote so no neighbours to annoy, but the remoteness made me wary. A nice quiet day now.

Happy New Year everyone! We are just finishing our first house sit with an awesome dog in Italy. We have been here 3 weeks and it has been so lovely getting to know the town. We will for sure miss this guy.

My hubby and I live on our Houseboat in Ontario, Canada from late March until early November and we use THS to travel around the southern United States during the winter. This year we were able to book 8 sits in Texas that run concurrently. We arrived at our current sit in Austin on December 24. At the home owners approval, our daughter and her husband and their new baby will join us here from Saskatchewan for a week! They will be here Jan 6-13. We leave here on January 15 and head to South Padre Island for 11 days. We are loving Texas and all the wonderful fur babies we’ve been looking after.

I started my Christmas/new years pet sits in Paris, then off to Nuremberg Germany and lastly ending up in Köln. First time to Europe…it’s been amazing even despite my hiccups with train travel. I have realized Christmas markets are a fun experience but im good without the crowds. Next year i will opt for someplace warmer as well, as now I’ll be heading back to Wisconsin for more cold and snow! Really would not have been able to do this trip without pet sitting! #blessed
