Pets and pomp are the theme for this coronation weekend in rural northern England, where I’m sitting for three pups. I was invited to the little village’s crowning celebration, but the pet owners thought the four-legged citizens of the realm should sit it out. Dogs always miss the good parties — sleeping on the couch is the consolation prize.

We’ve been throughly enjoying our time with this sweet little girl, here on the east coast. Weather is amazing, Roger is happy to be out in the yard, caring for the lawn and plants. We are back to our walks on the beach, and our first visit to North Myrtle Beach has been just perfect.

We are in Heaven! The hills of Marin County, hiking on Ring Mountain between Tiburon and Corte Madera, with views of San Francisco! Gorgeous! Well, and taking care of a loving, mellow golden retriever, Rosa, adds to our experience.

Next week we will be saying goodbye to Alfie & Luca - our 10th of 10 sits that we have done over the last six months around New Zealand & Australia.
On Tuesday we will be waving goodbye to Sydney and heading back to the UK…
Next Stop - London!
