I have sent applications to a few HOs and it appears they are in the “reviewing applications” stage. As I haven’t heard anything for a few days my question is whether I will be notified if they have chosen someone else?

Yes, you will be notified.
But this “reviewing applications” probably just means that they have received five applications and that THS is blocking any more.
Sadly, the HOs may not even be aware of this.

That’s true. I had thought it meant the owner was actually checking out the applications but having recently become the 5th applicant for a sit I noticed it immediately went to ‘reviewing applications’. I know the owner was on holiday at the time and wasn’t going to properly respond until he got back
