Dive in and welcome to the pool! It’s a great experience and we chat about lots of interesting topics. From the chats we sometimes manage to meet up in person later on. Highly recommend.

I’m a solo sitter, I’ve completed 9 sits so far in England and Scotland.
I’ve just joined the forum and can’t work out how to private message you, apparently I have ‘limited access’ at the moment.
I’d be interested in a Zoom call to meet other sitters as it does become isolated at times.

Hi Vanessa and solo sitters group,
I’m interested. I joined THS earlier in May 2025 (after years of considering and researching it, and then waiting for the right time in my life). I’ve just started and have three sits under my belt and two upcoming in December. I’m in the US and my sits have been in Vermont, West Virginia, and Tennessee, and the ones coming up are in Oregon and Washington. My goal is to get THS experience and then venture out to places abroad. I know I can glean a lot from the years of experience you all have. I’m eager to learn tips and the how to’s.
Thank you for creating the solo group and I look forward to joining. What do I need to do?

Just discovered this in the forums, was wondering if you set up a meet up for solo travelers in the US ? It would be nice to have others to chat with, been on the road for about a year.!

After careful consideration, I am writing to let you know that I am no longer going to be running the Solo Sitters Group Meetup on Sundays any more.
I have had a big change and I need to focus my time and energy elsewhere.

Thanks for doing it. I found it really nice to connect with other sitters. With US holidays coming up, don’t want to commit to setting it up. If there is still interest, maybe in the new year.

I didn’t get the chance to attend a zoom call before Vanessa had to give up hosting, but I am a newish solo sitter based in Midwest of USA and would enjoy connecting with others. Please include me in the re-grouping after the first of the year.

Thank you Vanessa for the time you devoted to this. I have made at least 4 new friends from it, and met up with 2 of the participants, (before the videos), I hope to keep in touch with a few of them, and of course yourself.

Yes thanks Vanessa I have also made some great new friends and can keep in touch now with them which is great. The sessions were always interesting and the chat about experiences meant there was never a dull moment!
It’s not all about the pets with pet sitting. I really enjoy the human connections we make with owners and sitters along the way.
