I love that various pubs in the U.K. will let you bring a dog.
I did a U.K. sit with a poodle puppy that was super sweet and often naughty, but she was very well behaved at the village pub for some reason. Not only did she calmly let me enjoy a pint, she on other occasions behaved well enough that I could have dinner and dessert — fish and chips and Eton mess, yum! Or Sunday roast and sticky toffee pudding!
