Any way to book a lounge in advance?

Hi everyone,

I’m flying from Italy to Mumbai this week and have a 6-hour layover before my connecting flight to Kochi.

A friend of mine has Indian credit cards with complimentary lounge access, and I’m thinking of using one during the layover. I’ve heard the lounges at Mumbai have good food and facilities.

How can I check whether her credit card is accepted at the terminal I’ll be using? And is there any way to check or book the lounge access in advance rather than finding out at the airport?

Also, since I’m arriving internationally and connecting to a domestic flight, is there anything specific I should know about lounge access?

Hi @drdoom,

Welcome to the forum!

I’m not sure if this helps, but it’s the terminal you’re leaving from the one where you need to use the lounge. It’s quite common to have a restriction of 3 or 4 hours time of use but they don’t always enforce it.

The best thing is to access the website of the airport and see the facilities they have, you can then check all the info you need.

Enjoy your flight!

Got it! So, I can access the lounge from the terminal I am departing from (connecting flight).

Hey @drdoom, there are multiple ways to check complimentary lounge access for your cards. You can check HOI, TFS, LoungeOne by Adani, or LoungeInsider.

Among these, I think LoungeInsider can help you find the information faster. With HOI, TFS and LoungeOne, you first need to figure out which platform is associated with the lounge at your terminal. LoungeInsider shows the respective lounge booking partner for generating the QR code, and also tells you whether your credit card provides complimentary access - simply search your card name.

Also, make sure your friend’s card has met the required spending criteria, if applicable, as this may be required to unlock complimentary lounge access.

That’s it. It’s always before your flight that you can use it, you need to show the boarding card.

@drdoom, if you are a Premium THS member then you have access to two free airport lounge passes. Details per weblink below. Note need to submit required information to support@trustedhousesitters.com at least three days prior to travel - from experience, we recommend 4+ days to THS.

Over the last few years, we’ve used many airport lounges. They vary a lot in terms of popularity and therefore need, or not, to reserve entry in advance. We typically do not reserve but sometimes have to wait a brief period to gain entry. All good.

Sounds like quite the adventure ahead for you, happy travels.

I just checked availability here in ATL through the link to Loungepass and the charge is $50 pp. Certainly not free, so…..is the process to message THS first and they arrange for a prepaid/free pass?

Yes if you have premium membership. They’ll need full names, flight numbers and timings, departure and destination airport codes and if there’s a specific lounge you want from the list then that too. It’s usually 72 hours notice to get one but often they’re quicker. #loungelizards

72-hours waiting period does not seem to fit my usage, unfortunately.

@drdoom, unfortunate. from our own experience, we suspect that 72+ hours is a term between THS and service provider for airport lounge access. noted as we’ve tried and been unsuccessful in securing THS airport lounge access within 72 hours of travel. Have a great flight
