App versus website

Sorry if I seem to be banging on about this but I see now that I had no way of knowing that I needed to click on the photo of the listing to access the welcome guide. This method is not intuitive nor user friendly. Okay I know now but why not just have a link saying welcome guide…

Hi @Tuppence not at all … when something doesn’t seem logical or indeed intuitive then by all means let us know.

The “Saved searches” behave incomprehensibly different for the web interface and for the app. For a long time I thought that it was only the maximum number that was the difference: 3 on the web interface, 10 in the app. In both user interfaces, they are on the same list of “Your saved searches”.

It is only now that I found out that they are completely different things!

When a Saved search is created via the web interface, it generates once a day at local evening an email of listings with new dates in that area (country or city or rectangle on the map).

A Saved search that is created by using the app is a totally different beast. It does not contribute to the daily emails! Instead it generates notifications in the app, approximately once per hour when listings have new dates.

I made a quick video of what it looks like in the app. It is quite nice, actually. And HOs should really be aware of what is displayed before sitters decide whether to click or to swipe.

Edit Sept 23: It does not work anymore like that. Now one needs to scroll through a long list of “low application” listings to get to the listing that triggered the alert. Incomprehensible. I have deleted my Saved search for France on the app.
