Arctic Digital Nomads Grant

I just found that one can apply for a grant to stay for free 1-3 months in locations in Norway, Iceland and the Faroe Islands (deadline 1. Dec.24)

It is aimed at digital nomads that can work anywhere, and would like to explore the exotic arctic. Seems like you get free office and accommodation and pay travel and living costs yourself as THS, but added bonus “you’ll be connected with other scholars in your cohort, sharing experiences and building a community.”

Arctic Digital Nomads

What do you think? Something you would consider? Of course, no pets… that would be the drawback…

As a Norwegian I would absolutely recommend this. It’s part of a programme to make people move permanently to these areas, but there are no obligation to do so at all. You are invited to a free stay and hopefully you’ll spread the word of how nice it is and rise awareness of the opportunities.

Do you have a link to the grant info? I don’t see it mentioned anywhere on the site.

Sorry. Tried to link correctly, but I agree, it was really hard to find the grant-page. I’ll try again:

Thanks! I appreciate it.

Looks fabulous. I would definitely go for this if I had what they’re looking for. Good luck to any of you that does & will be interesting to follow this thread. Well done @Garfield for posting it. Are you going to apply?

Unfortunately I am not able to as I at present have a fixed workplace. I thought it was a fabulous opportunity for a nomad as many here are. :heart_eyes_cat:

I shared it with my nomad community. I’d apply but I am on a sit until late April so I don’t meet their date requirements.

This looks really exciting – thanks for posting @Garfield

@Garfield, wow looks like a fabulous adventure. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, that is what it says in the press releases (in the Word files), but the web site now says that it is closed.

I guess they got enough applicants already.

It seems you are right. I guess since it was accommodation-based, probably it is fully booked. When I checked it said «The application 2024 is now closed» so one could hope it would re-open - maybe next year.
