Sometimes I want to search Europe, without the UK, because as a Brit I don’t always want to holiday in on this damp little island.
When I try and search though for short haul flight trips, UK sits dominate the search. I can’t find a way around it without putting individual countries in. Any suggestions?
I would like to know also. It used to be so much easier a couple of years ago, when TH would send out a daily email, with all the new sits listed in country, alphabetical order. Now it is far more complicated, as you can only specify a couple of regions. But with Worldwide they seem to all be in America and nowhere else. . And you have to actually log into the site to view them all. I frequently miss sits as it is very tedious keep logging in. to check each time. And if interested in a specific country, you need to keep putting details into search.
You can use the map dragging function (on both the app and on the website) and drag it across Europe to exclude the UK. It’s a much easier way of searching. On the app, if you begin to scroll down on a list of sits, a ‘view map’ button will appear. Hope that helps
Thank you! I have done this a bit, but still don’t find it that efficient as it chops out a bit of Europe if you put it in the right position to cut out the UK.
I wish you could draw a search section on the map, like you can on Rightmove!
Yeah, unfortunately many of these pet sitting sites seem to be a bit stuck in 2005 in their UX design and usability… clunky, doesn’t always make sense Hopefully they will improve with time
The only workaround I’ve found - and I use it all the time - is to drag the map such that it shows western/eastern Europe and a bit of southern Europe minus UK. And then I drag it again such that it shows France, Spain, and Portugal, but without UK
So I always have to do it twice to get the Europe sits without UK. I mainly do it to save time, so I don’t have to scroll through endless UK listings while looking for a sit in continental Europe (for every ~3-4 sits in ‘mainland’ Europe, there’s a 100 UK sits)
