Australia - Travel Update

Travel for vaccinated Australians

Update from the official Gov Website International and travel

The Australian Government is finalising new arrangements that will allow fully vaccinated Australians to travel.

For more information on travel for vaccinated Australians, visit the Home Affairs website.

Australians trying to return home

If you are overseas and wish to come home, you are encouraged to make plans to return.

Given the continuing risks from coronavirus (COVID-19), continue to expect delays and disruptions to travel plans.

For information on border restrictions see Home Affairs. If you are having trouble returning home, see what help is available on Smartraveller.

It looks like from November, Australians overseas who are fully vaccinated, are the ones who will be allowed to return. As for those of us in Australia, we can’t still visit every state or territory because of lockdowns and strict entry requirements so overseas travellers are not in the equation yet.
