@Skelty1 Hi Sherri. Firstly, very happy to hear that you’ve found a sitter for your dates… that’s wonderful news.
Indication of an “Identity Check” means that sitters will have been further verified by submitting an ID document for verification by a third party company. However, as mentioned there are many reasons why someone might not progress beyond the standard level. Some are nervous of sending documents (like passports) via the internet and we have to respect that.
Verification is just one part of building trust between our sitters and owners. Their profile and experience, their references and reviews, and your own assessment as part of pre selection or pre-sit communication during messaging, or better still a phone or video chat, all combine to ensure you have both made the best choices for your situation.
