Best pet names

Unfortunately the listing doesn’t seem to be active any more. Shame as it was a lovely house with walks straight from the door and remnants of Offa’s defensive structure (won’t let me post the actual name!) in the neighbouring woods.

Haha, Schrödinger in Düsseldorf. I have seen that listing so often and always wanted to apply, just because I so wanted to meet a cat named Schrödinger. Unfortunately the dates never worked…

The OP reminded me of a youtuber with a cat named Sparta and catchy song about him! Agree Spartacus is a great name. I’ll admit I get judgey about people who have a name in mind for a pet before they get the pet. Even if you get a pet that is young or lost and you don’t know the “real” name or don’t like it, I feel strongly that an animal will reveal its name to you. Most of the time with my cats, I got the name wrong initially or it took me a few days. We called one of our cats by the wrong name for almost two years. He never answered. When we figured out the correct name he answered to it.

We looked after ‘Mr Toffee’, a very lovable and well travelled Persian cat who was living in Singapore xx

Most definitely- and T.S. Eliot explains it well.

My own most recent cat arrived carrying the name Feather, but I thought that her “daily name” was Pixie.

I house sat for a Norfolk terrier whose name was Stanley. I loved the name. My daughter has a cat called Sir Smushington the first. Nicknamed Smush.

Why do I have a twitch-reaction to any pet name starting with a title? “MR Spock” “LORD Vader” “MRS Tiggywinkles”…?
But then, I had a cat named Mouse. I was quite disappointed to find I wasn’t the only one. By a long way.
