I wish there was a feature like the opposite of the ‘favourite’ button that you could select to stop a listing ever appearing for you again. It would save lots of time scrolling past sits you’ve seen many times but, for whatever reason, you’d never apply for. It’s particularly frustrating when you’ve got an area saved and the same sits appear again and again and why do the new sits never appear first ? Sorry , just wanted to know if these infuriate others. Not expecting (though can always hope) them to be implemented!
I was only thinking this exact same thing today about hiding sits you are not interested in. You can though, actually set your search to show new listings first which at least is a help.
Hi @hfg
This is a really good suggestion, and I think it’s been mentioned on the Forum before.
I have passed your suggestion over to the team, and if they get back to me with any information, I’ll let you know here.
Great suggestion from @ziggy about setting your search to show new listings first - that seems like a good fix in the meantime!
Jenny
Oh how do you do that ? I know you can do that if you search each time but didnt know there was this feature for saved searches so I’ll definitely activate that once it’s explained. Thank you
I think you have to do it each time but I might be wrong.
@Nofurbabies @hfg If you set up your search in the way you want it (eg newest) and then save that search, the search results will display that way each time. I have saved searches sorted for newest first, using the website and the app (the app as recently as yesterday) and they display that way each time. I just did a trial search to assure they both matched - website and app - and they did.
We’ve been asking for this for years…
As a homeowner, I would love this feature for Sitters too. There are some that do not meet the requirements of my sit yet continue to apply. Seems like an easy enough feature and would be useful for everyone who uses the platform. ![]()

@hfg, great idea. requested multiple times over recent years on Forum threads.
@ziggy, one of our uses of a ‘block’ function would be to eliminate listings by pet parents that keep reposting their listings to be “new” over and over again. If we did not apply to a listing the first time then darned unlikely that we’ll decide to apply after many re-postings … desperate tactics (probably on either side) rarely appear attractive ![]()
I so agree with you @GotYourBack re the repetitive posting of listings that just goes on and on. In my saved searches there is such a one that appears in two of them so I get a double dose! Dates aren’t until September and October so it would be better to take the listings down and re-post July/August instead of continually doing it since at least a month or so.
I think some Forum members should be employed by THS to fix what has been broken for years. There seems to be lots of jobs going
I’m sure there would be plenty of applicants ![]()
Trouble is, they don’t respond to applications either.
Just got my second notification in an hour, for the same listings as the first one ![]()
But would you want to work for THS based on what you know about them?
This suggestion has been made COUNTLESS times on numerous threads for ages…and ages. By me and many others. To no avail. ![]()
I would LOVE that option as well as a search in the “where do you want to go” box option being “Europe EXCEPT the UK”.
I get SO. MANY. NOTIFICATIONS. for UK sits bc I’m always searching “Europe”. They really need to narrow that search field!
Jenny, this has been requested multiple times for - I’d like to estimate - at least a couple of years if not more.
I would LOVE for them to listen to this request as well as the one I mention on here regarding separating the search for Europe from UK. So frustrating. They need TWO categories under “where would you like to go” - one for EU and one for UK - separate, please!!
@carpediem16, yep hear you. We (and lots others) have asked for this repeatedly. But there’s no indication that related function will change.
Suggest give up on ‘Europe’ searches if not interested in UK. Wasting your time. Two (or three depending on preferences) careful custom maps in Saved Search in iOS app can capture geography of Schengen area. Members are permitted 50 Saved Searches so plenty to use. It’s a clumsy, surprising workaround but it at least yields listings in desired geography.
I hear you @carpediem16 - I passed that over to the team for you.
You can but try! ![]()
Yes, I completely agree! I was just about to contact support and make the same request! ![]()
